I am former graduate student in the School of Oceanography at the University of Washington. After I completed my Master of Science degree in March of 1998, my wife Alex and I decided to take a year to travel around the globe and see the world before the information age delivers CNN to every inhabited village on Earth ... and in many ways we were already too late. Our trip was amazing in many different ways, and I hope to develop some of our adventures into a small web site in the coming months --- we'll see how it goes! My advisor, Russ McDuff, has been kind enough to let me keep my web ramblings on his site, at least until I find a job and can wrangle my own web space.
