CTD Station 01
- Purpose: Acquire background (hydrothermally uncontaminated) theta-S and N data "upstream" of the ridge, where "upstream" was defined as ENE based on 1995 progressive vector data from a current meter located ~300m above bottom (1900m depth) near the MEF.
- Summary: Minor transmissometer and backscatter change at 4m above bottom. S deflection and change in T slope @ ~500m. Nice O2 minimum. 9 Niskin bottle samples were taken at 50m intervals between 2200m and 1800m depths.
