Its origin is in an e-mail directed to several faculty and students. It arrived at a time when I (RMcD) was working on an MG&G seminar on Web-based instruction. Besides summarizing my experience with web-based lectures I use in Ocean 540, one of my slides for that seminar concerned community outreach. Dean McManus also agreed to participate, building on his experience with web-based presentation of the senior projects.
