Words of Congratulations on the Occasion of Dive 3000 from Senator John Kerry

To the Crew and Staff of Alvin
September 20, 1995

I'd like to congratulate the crew of Alvin and the staff of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute on reaching this unprecedented milestone in ocean research. The amazing discoveries and tremendous capabilities for research and technology development through Alvin's diving operations represent the very best of American ingenuity and commitment ot excellence. The Alvin and the men and women of the WHOI who make its operation possible are extraordinary assets to the world of marine science, and I am proud that you call Massachusetts home. I wish you all the best of luck in this and future dives to the ocean floor.
