Mixing Zephyr Surface Ship Operations
During the Mixing Zephyr Program, a dual current meter
mooring and an acoustic transponder network were deployed,
and 48 tows or vertical casts were
completed within the vicinity of the Endeavour Segment axial valley on the
Juan de Fuca Ridge. The coverage of the entire survey (and soon the
current meter mooring and transponder positions) is shown
in this map.
Further information can be gleaned by examining the results from
an individual transect conducted during one of the two Mixing Zephyr
legs:
